It’s not every day that you come across a lovely Purple Nurple Drink, so you have to enjoy it when you do. However, the look is not the only factor that will satisfy you; an essential one is, of course, taste.
Most drinks contain orange liqueur, strawberries, and perhaps citrus fruits such as lemon and lime. If you’ve had enough of them, you should try something different, like cranberry juice. What better way to kick off our adventure than with a glass of purple nurple drink?
A purple nurple drink is a shot prepared with coconut rum, orange liqueur, vodka, and lime juice. Some people replace a sweet and sour combination and lemon-lime soda for the orange liqueur.
There are several ways to prepare this shot. But the most common use is a combination of the ingredients. It can also be turned into a cocktail since it deserves to be appreciated.

Purple Nurple Drink Recipe
Blue plus red equals purple, which is quite simple. But not for this cocktail, which is classy and delicious. It combines the flavor of delicious coconut rum, which evokes beach feelings, with the fruity sensations of triple sec and cranberry juice. Of course, this stunning color would not have been possible without the magical blue curacao. All of these ingredients come together to make a lovely glass of purple delight.
Ingredients:
- Malibu Coconut Rum (1 oz.)
- Cointreau Triple Sec 1 oz.
- ½ oz. Blue Curacao Senior & Co.
- Lakewood Cranberry Juice, 2 oz.
- Cubes of ice
Preparation:
- Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Pour into the shaker after mixing the ingredients using a jigger.
- Shake well until thoroughly mixed.
- Fill a rocks glass halfway with ice and strain, and pour the cocktail into it. If you want to take a shot, strain the mixture into a chilled shot glass.
Recipe Variations
As previously said, there are several ways to make this drink, each with its own set of ingredients. Because of its uncertain origins, there isn’t a single recipe for this shot that can be termed the “original.” What matters is that the blue curacao liqueur and the vodka are the common denominators.
The Bottom Line
It is beyond a question that purple is a cool and tempting color. And if you link it with food, you can’t deny that most of them are sophisticated, such as wine, grapes, berries, and others. Some, such as purple cabbage, carrots, yam, and cauliflower, are even available in this color even though it is not their natural color, making them extremely unique and valuable.
Of course, the world of cocktails is not exempt since it has various gorgeous purple cocktails. The purple nurple drink is one of them. It’s not only beautiful on the outside. But after you sip it and taste the rush of flavors, you’ll understand why it’s such a popular drink. This image is a fantastic example of something that is both lovely on the inside and outside.
